What’s Inside Hormone Harmony?

Hormone Harmony contains Smart Extracts, a blend of natural plant extracts derived from nine herbs. These include:

  1. Lepedium meyenii tuber (Maca root)
  2. Withania somnifera root (Ashwaganda root)
  3. Vitex agnus-castus fruit (Chaste tree berry)
  4. Matricaria chamomilla flower (Chamomile flower)
  5. Rhodiola rosea root (Rhodiola5PlusTM)
  6. Foeniculum vulgare seed (Fennel seed)
  7. Panax quinquefolius root (American ginseng root)
  8. Rosmarinus officinalis leaf (Rosemary leaf)
  9. Gymnema sylvestre leaf (Gurmar leaf)

Its sugar-free formula helps ensure you don’t get sugar cravings from taking the supplement.

Below, we’ll take a closer look at its main ingredients and the scientific research that supports Happy Mammoth’s claims.

1. Maca Root Extract

Hormone Harmony IngredientAmount Per Serving
Lepedium meyenii tuber (dry)150 mg dry concentrate, equivalent to 3,000 mg Maca root (dry)

Proven benefits: Several studies show its potential in treating reproductive issues in both men and women. These include:1

  • Increased sperm count and sperm motility (men)
  • Increased libido (men and menopausal women)
  • Improved survival of the embryo (women)
  • Impotence or erectile dysfunction (men)

Maca also has anti-stress properties. It can protect you against the harmful effects of stress.1

Chronic stress increases your risk for stress-related conditions like heart disease, high blood pressure (hypertension), and weight gain.2

Moreover, it has stimulating effects that can decrease symptoms of depression and anxiety and improve your mood and well-being.1

2. Ashwaganda Root Extract

Hormone Harmony IngredientAmount Per Serving
Withania somnifera root (dry)250 mg dry concentrate, equivalent to 2,500 mg Ashwaganda root (dry)

Proven benefits: Early research suggests that Ashwaganda root has positive effects on a person’s overall health. Here’s what we know so far:

  • Ashwaganda root extract reduces cortisol, stress, and anxiety in people with chronic stress, improving their quality of life.3,4
  • Supplementation decreases the negative impact of stress. It enhances mood and cognitive performance while reducing depressive symptoms.4
  • Ashwaganda may help you lose or manage weight. It can reduce stress-related eating habits (e.g., emotional eating).5

Ashwaganda root provides most of these benefits by reducing cortisol, a well-known stress hormone.

Too much cortisol is a sign of chronic stress. It can lead to depression, anxiety, hypertension, weight gain, and high blood sugar.

Ashwaganda root is an adaptogenic herb that improves your resistance to stress.3 Adaptogens are plants that help you respond to stress more effectively.

3. Chaste Tree Berry Extract

Hormone Harmony IngredientAmount Per Serving
Vitex agnus-castus fruit150 mg dry concentrate, equivalent to 1,500 mg dry Chaste tree berry

Proven benefits: Early studies show that low doses of Chasteberry may be good for your prolactin and progesterone levels.6

It reduces some symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) such as breast pain, constipation, headaches, irritability, and depressive mood.6

Some doctors prescribe it for women with fertility problems caused by:6

  • Menstrual disorders (like irregular and absent menstruation)
  • Luteal disorders (like Luteal Phase Defect)

These conditions can make it difficult to get pregnant.

According to several small studies, women who take Chasteberry for three to five months are more likely to become pregnant than those who don’t.6

4. Chamomile Flower Extract

Hormone Harmony IngredientAmount Per Serving
Matricaria chamomilla flower187.50 mg dry concentrate, equivalent to 1,500 mg dry Chamomile flower

Proven benefits: Often, the symptoms associated with mood disorders can affect a person’s ability to concentrate and function efficiently.

Chamomile extract can improve your overall quality of life. It can:

  • Alleviate premenstrual mood swings, which may involve anxiety, depression, irritability, and anger.7
  • Treat symptoms of PMS more effectively than mefenamic acid.8
  • Reduce anxiety and depression in people with generalized anxiety disorders (GAD).8
  • Reduce depression and improve sleep quality in postpartum women following childbirth.9

While chamomile is traditionally used to ease digestive issues, the research around it is still limited.

Early studies suggest it can prevent diarrhea when taken alone or relieve symptoms of mild diarrhea when taken with myrrh and coffee charcoal.8

5. Rhodiola Root Extract

Hormone Harmony IngredientAmount Per Serving
Rhodiola rosea root68 mg dry concentrate, equivalent to 680 mg dry Rhodiola root

Proven benefits: Rhodiola root may be good for your digestion. One of its active compounds, salidroside, has positive effects on gut bacteria.10

Having a balanced gut flora is important for your digestive health and well-being. This is why people with gut imbalances experience a range of symptoms.

Some signs of gut imbalance include fatigue, changes in mood, food cravings, and sleep disturbances.

Salidroside may help prevent these symptoms by promoting gut balance and suppressing the growth and activity of certain gut bacteria.10

Rhodiola is also a powerful adaptogen. Studies prove it can help you:11

  • Manage stress more effectively
  • Improve your physical and mental performance
  • Enhance your coordination and endurance
  • Reduce negative emotions like anxiety

Finally, rhodiola rosea extract may be beneficial for women’s reproductive health.

Some doctors say that women who failed to conceive with fertility drugs managed to become pregnant after taking R. rosea.11

A small study also shows it can restore ovulation in women with amenorrhea or the lack of menstruation.11

6. Fennel Seed Extract

Hormone Harmony IngredientAmount Per Serving
Foeniculum vulgare seed500 mg dry concentrate, equivalent to 5 g dry Fennel seed

Proven benefits: Fennel seed extract is useful for many female reproductive problems. Based on our research, it can:12

  • Reduce symptoms of PMS (e.g., pain, anxiety)
  • Relieve PMS symptoms at the same level as mefenamic acid
  • Alleviate menstrual cramps (dysmenorrhea) better than vitamin E, and at the same level as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
  • Decrease menopausal symptoms such as vaginal dryness
  • Increase libido and sexual satisfaction in menopausal women
  • Treat amenorrhea with fewer side effects than synthetic estrogen
  • Promote lactation in nursing women

Fennel seed also promotes hormonal balance by increasing your prolactin, progesterone, and estrogen levels.12

7. American Ginseng Root Extract

Hormone Harmony IngredientAmount Per Serving
Panax quinquefolius root100 mg dry concentrate, equivalent to 1,000 mg dry American ginseng root

Proven benefits: There aren’t many studies on American ginseng. But the limited research available shows it has a few potential benefits.

For example, it prevents sudden increases in blood sugar. This helps you avoid sugar crashes, which can cause sugar cravings and negatively affect your mood and energy levels.13

American ginseng extract boosts brain performance and increases feelings of calmness in healthy adults.13

8. Rosemary Leaf Extract

Hormone Harmony IngredientAmount Per Serving
Rosmarinus officinalis leaf10 mg dry concentrate, equivalent to 100 mg dry Rosemary leaf

Proven benefits: Rosemary leaf extract has anti-depressant and anti-anxiety properties.14 It also promotes gut balance by increasing the “good bacteria” and decreasing the “bad bacteria” in your gut.15

With these qualities, it may be useful for preventing depressive symptoms and digestive problems common in PMS, menopause, and hormone imbalances.

Various studies also suggest it can boost male fertility. More specifically, it has shown the potential to aid the production of healthy and viable sperm.16.17

9. Gurmar Leaf Extract

Hormone Harmony IngredientAmount Per Serving
Gymnema sylvestre leaf40 mg dry concentrate, equivalent to 160 mg dry Gurmar leaf

Proven benefits: Current evidence shows that gurmar leaf may be beneficial for weight loss and weight control.

It reduces food cravings and keeps your blood sugars stable.17 This can cause you to eat less and help you cut back on your calorie intake

Does Hormone Harmony Work for Hormone Balance?

Many women find Hormone Harmony to be helpful, including me.

I checked product reviews online, and while its results tend to vary for each person, people usually report positive effects, including:

  • Getting better sleep
  • Disappearance of hot flashes
  • Weight reduction
  • Having a better mood
  • Less bloating
  • Healthier skin

As of February 2023, it has an average rating of 4.4 out of 5 stars on Trust Pilot and 4.7 out of 5 stars on the Happy Mammoth website.

Most negative feedback usually has something to do with customer service rather than dissatisfaction with the product itself.

A few unsatisfied customers said that Hormone Harmony made their symptoms worse or that it had no therapeutic effects on their symptoms.

My Experience With Hormone Harmony

I’m currently in my mid-30s, but ever since I hit “the big three,” I noticed a significant decline in my energy levels despite getting restful sleep.

While my PMS symptoms used to be very mild throughout my teens and 20s, my menstrual cramps became more unbearable as I reached my 30s.

Digestive upset is another common issue I experience at least once a week. And I’ve always struggled with mood imbalances.

I took Hormone Harmony for a month, and ever since I started taking it, I generally felt better–physically, mentally, and emotionally.

I’ve been using a digital planner to keep tabs on my digestive problems, energy levels, and mood for two months–before and while taking the supplement.

While on Hormone Harmony for a month:

  • I was less likely to feel the blues
  • My moods were more stable and predictable
  • My digestion improved by week four
  • I had more energy to get through the day

I wasn’t able to check for changes in my hormone levels, but my personal experience tells me that Happy Mammoth lives up to its claimed benefits.

Is Hormone Harmony Safe?

Yes. Hormone Harmony is generally safe to consume.

Hormone Harmony uses plant-based ingredients contained in vegetable capsules (cellulose). This makes it safe for people who follow a vegan diet.

The supplement doesn’t contain dairy, gluten, GMOs, or artificial ingredients.

It’s safe for people with lactose intolerance and gluten intolerance or who have a preference for natural products.

Happy Mammoth’s supplements are safe because they are:

  • Designed by health specialists for women of all ages
  • Manufactured in small quantities to ensure their quality
  • Made in facilities certified by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA)

While the Australian company has taken every measure to ensure the quality and safety of their products, some people might still experience side effects.

It’s best that you check with your doctor. Many of the ingredients in Happy Hormone have not been tested on nursing and pregnant women.

Your doctor can determine if it's safe for you to take Hormone Harmony.

How To Use Hormone Harmony for Hormone Health

Happy Mammoth recommends taking four (4) capsules daily, preferably first thing in the morning and with a glass of water.

You can take it with Hormone Harmony PLUS+ to boost its effects.
