Here’s What Happened After We Went On Dr. Goglia’s G-Plan Diet For 2 Weeks 6

Our verdict: Dr. Goglia's G-Plan Diet is a diet plan that I find simple to follow. After experimenting with various diets, maintaining them has consistently been a primary concern for me.

After two weeks of following the G-Plans diet, I felt more full for longer periods, compared to when I was always craving in-between meal snacks. It led to a significant decrease in my need to snack between meals.

The meals recommended by G-Plans have given me a boost in energy. My afternoon slumps have become less frequent.

The sluggish feeling I used to experience has also lessened considerably.

Some diets can be too restrictive, requiring the elimination of specific food groups for weight loss. However, research suggests that each person's body type responds differently to dietary restrictions and food choices.

By determining my metabolic type, the G-Plans program develops unique meal plans based on foods that significantly aid my weight loss goals.

What Is Metabolic Typing?

Dr. Goglia's G Plan is based on the metabolic typing diet. It follows the idea that we have unique dietary needs based on our metabolic type.

The metabolic typing diet suggests that genetic makeup largely influences how your body processes food for energy.1

Researchers and science writers Trisha Fahey and William Wolcott introduced this diet plan in 2001, publishing a book with the same title.

The authors claim that eating according to your metabolic type offers the following benefits:

  • Reducing food cravings
  • Reaching your ideal weight
  • Boosting your energy

What Are Your Options?

The app offers free features and three (3) different paid plans.

  • Free Version: Gives you access to limited features of the app, including an intuitive meal planner, calorie counter, and exercise journal.
  • Pro Plan: Includes the features in the free version. But, it has an additional personalized meal plan and full access to the other tools inside the app.
  • Managed Plan: Has all the features included in the Pro Plan. It also comes with weekly one-on-one coaching from a certified nutritionist to optimize your weight loss journey.
  • Maintenance Plan: Gives you the same access as the Managed Plan, but this subscription is only available after you have achieved your goal with G-Plans.

The company also offers G-Plans supplements that help target different needs like weight loss, gut health, energy boost, and so on.

G-Plans Pro Plan

The Pro Plan is the basic program offered by G-Plans, providing access to all the features in the G-Plans app

G-Plans' Pro Plan can benefit a wide range of people, such as those seeking personalized nutrition and busy individuals. First-time weight loss seekers and those who want to lose weight sustainably may also find the app helpful.

The website also states that G-Plans meals can be personalized to fit diets for managing conditions like

  • Hypothyroidism
  • Cardiovascular diseases, including diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and so on
  • Esophageal Reflux or GERD
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
  • GI disorders
  • Food allergies or intolerances
  • Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)

G-Plans is also suitable for people following specialty diets, such as vegetarian, vegan, paleo, and more.

How Does G-Plans Determine Your Metabolic Type and Meal Plan?

To get started with the program, you are required to complete a questionnaire ( the G-plans quiz) that consists of four distinct sections:

  • Body and habits
  • Health and history
  • Your goals
  • Your preferences

After completing the questionnaire, the program identifies your metabolic type. Your metabolic type will help the AI generate your customized plan.

Metabolic typing helps determine your body’s preferred ratio of macronutrients—protein, fats, and carbs.

G-Plans will suggest meals according to this ratio of macros your body needs to generate energy and initiate fat burning.

G-Plans classifies three metabolic types, namely:

  • Fat and protein efficient
  • Carbohydrate efficient
  • Dual efficient

In my case, it assessed that I am fat-protein efficient.

Here’s What Happened After We Went On Dr. Goglia’s G-Plan Diet For 2 Weeks 8

It means I can better digest high protein and high-fat foods for energy. G-Plans suggests I focus on more healthy fats and high-quality protein sources.

It also recommended I lessen my carb intake.

Similar to other weight loss plans, your primary objective is to follow a daily calorie limit by consuming foods that your body processes the easiest.

The meal plans are updated weekly, ensuring variety and preventing repetitive recipes. It makes G-Plans an easy-to-sustain diet plan.

What’s Inside The App—G-Plans Features

On top of the customized meal plans, subscribing to the G-Plans program gave me access to the app’s key features, such as

  • Easy meal recipes
  • Ebooks and guides
  • Grocery list
  • Weight loss tracking tools
  • Exercise tracker
  • Water intake tracker
  • Meal delivery program (through Sunbasket, priced additionally)
  • Community group on Facebook

What Are G-Plans Pro Plan’s Benefits?

Here are some of the most significant benefits I got from subscribing to a G-Plans diet program.

Goal-oriented weight loss

G-Plans program is designed to help you lose weight sustainably. Moreover, it establishes the foundation for your weight loss journey.

Before signing up, G-Plans will show a forecasted weight loss progress based on your starting weight and weight goal.

The example below is my G-Plans’ forecasted progress.

Meal Planning and Variety

An app that helped me manage meal planning and even my grocery shopping which was incredibly helpful, especially since I consider myself a pretty busy person.

The app already includes a range of easy-to-follow recipes, so I didn’t have to worry about a lack of variety in my meals.

Balanced nutrition

Each meal plan is perfectly macro-balanced, so I ate the proper amounts of nutrition, vitamins, and minerals that my body needs.

Is G-Plans Diet Safe To Follow?

The G-Plans Diet is generally safe for many people to follow. It considers your current weight and weight goal to set your daily calorie intake.

I personally didn’t suffer any side effects from it, and it didn’t interrupt my day-to-day at all.

Plus, it encourages choosing foods that your body processes best. You are less likely to experience problems with nutritional balance.

But it's always important to consult your doctor before starting any new diet or making significant changes to your eating habits.

The G-Plans Diet can be beneficial for weight loss and overall health. However, individual experiences and results may vary. Some people may require additional adjustments to their diet to accommodate specific health concerns or conditions.

Where Can I Buy G-Plans?

I signed up for a G-Plans subscription through their website. Once I completed the purchase, I installed the app on my phone.

The app is available in the App Store or the Google Play store.

How Much Does G-Plans Cost?

You can choose from two G-Plans pricing plans after completing the questionnaire on their website.

  • Pro Plan: $39.99 per month
  • Managed Plan: $39.99 per month plus $10 for your first one-on-one appointment with a nutritionist

G-Plans vs. Noom

G-Plans is more focused on personalized meal planning based on your metabolic type. On the other hand, Noom emphasizes behavior change to achieve your weight loss goal.

G-Plans subscriptions include detailed meal plans, grocery lists, and recipes. Noom offers a food database and a color-coded system to guide you in making healthier food choices.

Noom can include a customized meal plan but for an extra cost.

G-Plans vs. DoFasting

G-Plans and DoFasting have different approaches to weight loss. G-Plans is more focused on meal planning according to your body’s metabolism.

On the other hand, DoFasting centers around intermittent fasting and promoting a healthy lifestyle. It offers personalized meal planning based on your preferences, goals, and lifestyle.

DoFasting’s meal plans are not as personalized as G-Plans’. However, its meal recommendations and recipes are designed to complement your fasting schedule.

Another main difference between the two weight loss apps is exercise guidance. DoFasting has workout plans and an exercise tracker to encourage you to add physical activity to your routine.

Is The Product Worth It?

G-Plans Pro Plan is worth a try. I find the app easy to use, and the meal plans are carefully crafted to work with my body type and metabolism.

The grocery lists and recipes offer convenience and support to those with busy lifestyles like me to adhere to their weight loss goals.

It combines metabolic diet type, macro-nutrient portioning, and calorie counting to optimize weight loss.

G-Plans claims to offer significant weight loss in a short period. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend that adults aim to lose up to 1–2 pounds per week (4–8 pounds per month).2

According to G-Plans’ forecast, I’m on track to lose six pounds after a month, which is still within the healthy range.

I agree that this pace is appropriate, and I can easily keep up with myself since, in the past, I’d lost this much weight after a month, as well.

Remember that losing weight more rapidly than the recommended amount could be hazardous to your health and lead to side effects.

However, always consult a healthcare professional before following a diet plan. Do this before making any big changes to your diet, especially if you have any underlying health conditions.
