Our verdict: 310 Nutrition shakes are a great way to make your keto diet easy without removing good food and flavors from the equation.
They were simple, delicious, and filling. I really enjoyed the shakes and highly recommend them to anyone apprehensive about the “limited” options keto may give you.
Tim Sharif founded the 310 Nutrition company in Salt Lake City as a healthy alternative to many of the other sugar and preservative-filled shakes that used to dominate the meal replacement industry.
Today, 310 Nutrition is one of the most dominant meal replacement shake companies on the planet. Though they do not market to the hardcore meal replacement audience for users of products like Soylent or Huel - they’ve made huge inroads with regular folks looking to lose weight.
Most 310 nutrition reviews come from fitness fanatics or stay-at-home moms trying to lose weight.
This 310 shake review will give you the perspective of someone who is deeply passionate about meal replacement shakes and keto and has tried the best of the best.
My name is Adam Andrewjeski. I was what someone in the tech world would call an "early adopter.” I've been using soylent since its very early stages. The first time I saw a true meal replacement product was when I read about it in the first VICE soylent article back in 2013.
My first thoughts were...that's a crazy idea. Why would someone want to replace their food with a drink? But I let the idea simmer in my head. Eating and finding optimal nutrition was a daily source of anxiety for me. I spent too much time going out to find fast food and it was pretty clear it had to change.
Since my first soylent order in 2014, I've tried just about every brand of meal shake that you could think of. I’ve been doing meal replacement shakes ever since. Everyone has their own personal tastes, preferences, and nutritional needs.
I've done a lot of research to figure out what works best and what is high quality in this market. On average, over the last ten years, I've had about 1 shake a day.
At the beginning of this year, my weight loss started to slow. I was lower in energy. I had lost over 100 pounds using meal replacement shakes occasionally but I still had more to lose. I hit the dreaded weight loss plateau.
So I did something crazy. I decided that for 1 month I would only drink meal replacements. I tried all the brands I could get my hands on, consuming 1,500-1,600 calories a day for weight loss.
In the last phase of my weight loss, I had lost another 20 pounds and lived off the shakes for almost 2 months. I felt great, if not a little bored, so I returned to mixing my diet with solid food.
You can count on me to give you solid advice about what meal replacements work best. I’m experimenting every day and am always trying new brands. I try to make my biases clear, and I want to help you reach your nutrition goals just like I have.
310 shakes are the bread and butter of the company (obviously without the bread or butter!) These shakes come in a serving of 90 calories and do a pretty good job at keeping you full for a snack.
310 shakes are basically a protein shake blend - with a mix of different plant proteins and vitamins and nutrients in a powder. They come in a ton of flavors but you will need to make them in a smoothie or add ingredients to make what I would consider a “full meal”.

I know this is supposed to be a 310 meal replacement review, but 310 Teas are the perfect extra hydration tool to help you lose weight because they ward off hunger.
The 310 Tea I made did a number on my usual afternoon hunger in between meals throughout the day.
All you have to do is put the mix in warm or hot water! I find that tea helps my metabolism and gives me energy too.
310 nutrition makes a line of supplements, and I’ve yet to be able to try them all.
See if some of them can help you with your health goals:
310 is one of the only meal replacement companies to uniquely focus their efforts on assisting people with body recomp and weight loss.
I ordered the starter kit from 310 Nutrition as a cheap way to test out the products. I didn’t get free shipping, but the product was only $9, so I won’t bash it too hard in this review.
Each large bag of 310 shake powder contains 28 servings of shakes. This should be enough meals for about a month if you are using one a day.
My order went smoothly, and the service from this company seems on point!
As always, the type of shake flavor you prefer will depend on your own tastes. I myself prefer the fruitier/creamier flavors of shakes over chocolate, but you guys know that if you read my reviews. Overall, I’d say 310 shakes taste great for a low-calorie shake.
Here’s how I would rank the 310 shakes I got in the sample pack:
I tried a blend of coconut and vanilla that I liked a lot. I still have a TON of flavors from 310 to try. I wish this review could encompass all the flavors, but there are simply too many.
Unfortunately, I didn’t get to try much of the tea. But the Keto Electrolytes from 310 is just fine, it tastes perfectly acceptable. I found the texture to be pretty similar to most meal replacement shakes with high protein that I’ve had in the past.
Here are some of the most notable ingredients:
Ingredients and nutrient profiles will vary from shake to shake. Always check the labels to make sure they fit your needs and preferences.
Some people may consider some of the ingredients in 310 Nutrition shakes controversial. Here are a few examples:
Ingredients used in 310 shakes are generally safe to consume but you should always check with your doctor or nutritionist first before committing to any permanent diet changes.
Yes. 310 Nutrition is a safe, effective way to lose weight and replace meals while on keto.
While it wasn’t the most filling, and I sometimes had to add ingredients, I didn’t experience any discomfort with it.
Replace one or two meals a day with a 310 Nutrition shake.
Remember that you can’t survive on meal replacement shakes alone—even if I tried it! So ensure you’re still balancing your diet with solid food and shakes that align with your diet.
You can buy the product on their website.
Individual flavor packs that contain 14 servings start at about $44.99. Subscriptions will slash that price down, however, if you’re committed to trying them out. There is also a 28-serving bag.
A 24-serving variety pack will cost you $67.49 where you have different flavors to try. Again, subscriptions will help you save more.
Yes. They’re tasty and can successfully replace meals, if necessary.
310 shakes are a healthy alternative to a fast-food lunch or sugar-filled, fried snacks and candy.
To give full disclosure, I basically think of brands like 310 Nutrition and Keto Chow as protein powder vendors WITH some added bonuses like vitamins, minerals, and other ingredients.
310 Shakes might make a good supplement to your daily meals, but things get a little more complex if you’re making your own DIY mix with things like Heavy Cream, Peanut Butter, etc. You have to factor these shakes into your own needs.
Maybe you want to lose weight?
Getting more protein, vitamins, and minerals will be helpful with that. It will also help with your appetite because protein, as I mentioned, is a proven appetite suppressant. It also contains fiber that will help keep you full. From other reviews on the website, it looks like many people have successfully utilized 310 shakes to lose weight. 310 Shakes are a great way to stave off hunger during the day.

Keto Chow and 310 are pretty similar shakes in terms of content and nutrition. They both contain vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients you would normally have to get from another supplement.
The main difference is that Keto Chow, as the name implies, focuses more heavily on the keto audience. The price of Keto Chow is also a bit higher.
I haven’t seen 310 Nutrition suggest adding heavy cream or butter for someone looking to make keto meals,
Herbalife makes a large line of products like 310.
Use 310 if you’re looking to lose weight and want the credibility and reliability of a trusted company like 310. I’d say the ingredients in 310 shakes are higher quality, but Herbalife products are often cheaper.
310 shakes are not a complete meal source like Huel if you don’t add anything to them.
But Huel shakes are not totally suitable for a 100% meal replacement or diet. Even Huel Black contains enough carbs to knock you out of ketosis.
That being said, the nutrition in Huel is top-notch, and you can get away with at least one of the daily shakes on a keto diet. Huel is a drink that gives you all you need in one serving and helps with appetite suppression.
It all depends on your goals.
310 Nutrition shakes have a good amount of protein, fat, and fiber. A 310 Shake is definitely suitable for a keto diet!
For the average non-athlete, it's perfect, but I would need to supplement more protein myself. It is one of the higher protein meal replacements compared to other brands, regardless of the keto factor.
It contains a great profile of electrolytes—salt, potassium, magnesium, and calcium—for increased keto needs.
The average American diet lacks critical nutrients that assist you with weight loss, like fiber, sodium, and potassium. Without these, especially fiber, the stomach is triggered to be hungrier sooner.
I can speak from my own personal experience and having lost over 130 lbs with the assistance of meal shakes. You CAN use meal replacement shakes to help you lose weight, too.
Furthermore, a keto diet is a great way to lose even more weight and avoid the hunger typically felt on a calorie-restriction diet with carbohydrates.
I spent about six months on a strict ketogenic diet, and it was the best I’ve ever felt in my life. I stopped needing to take naps, lost a ton of weight, felt fuller for longer, and ended my sugar cravings.
My blood tests, EKG, physical, etc., showed that I was in the best shape of my life. Even though I’ve reached most of my weight loss milestones with keto, I plan on eating low-carb for the rest of my life.
